Reem Arca, etc.

Um ok, seriously. Can we just take a long gander at the stunning beauty that is this Reem Arca Twist-Front Gown??? I love embellished capsleeves, a Grecian-inspired design, and a train. THIS IS SO GORGEOUS! It's cinched in the waist too so it's not like it'll look like a maternity dress if you wear it.... Too bad it is CAD $5669.27. It is the perfect style for a wedding dress, in my opinion. I wouldn't want a sheath, but I wouldn't want a frilly Barbie doll extravaganza dress. This is in between. Formal but still flouncy enough to be considered bridal wear.

Some other beauties:

It doesn't even have to be white, I'd accept this lovely lilac/lavender colour below. It is my fave colour after all.

FIN.

Sparklers

Ok. So let's get right to it.

DIAMONDS
DIAMONDS
DIAMONDS

I always thought the big rocks celebs wear as engagement rings were really frivolous and too flashy (like Kim K's). I still do, especially with some rings that I've seen. Diamonds are practically revered in Hollywood. In my opinion, it means you can definitely provide, lavish, and shower your significant other with all that she wants (the cars, the mansion, the clothes, and jewelry)...and most importantly, U GOT DA MONIES.

Nowadays, it's all about the rock and not really the ring or the symbolism behind it. A ring on your left ring finger signifies marriage and starting a journey together with your loved one forever (proof of the vows you swear). It doesn't have to have a diamond(s) or stone necessarily but the majority of women everywhere prefer it. I also think that Hollywood (and the media) sets a bad example as most men are influenced to buy a (big) diamond ring for their girlfriends. That kind of mindset shouldn't carry much weight. Unless you're marrying a gold digger/trophy wife lol (this reminds me of the movie Intolerable Cruelty haha).

HOWEVER, being the fancy, glamorous girly girl that I am, I secretly do love diamonds. Recently I've started to admire big rocks too (although it is unrealistic for those not belonging in upper class society) but I'd be fine with anything as long as it was chosen with care. Above all, it has to LOOK GOOD, so diamond or not, as long as I can rock it (no pun intended) then I could care less, LOL. I'm not sure I would prefer a set, but who knows. I have somewhat specific tastes when it comes to jewelry, and I DO love my jewelry! Just ask anyone lol!

I do want to explore some celeb engagement rings though. These are ones I do like:

Gisele Bundchen

Scarlett Johansson

Elizabeth Hurley

Angie Harmon (The engagement ring!)

Diana Patrick (I wanna see this up close and I'm not sure who this is.)

Khloe Kardashian (Looks good from afar lol.)

I now leave you with the best for last:

Hilary Duff

To wrap this up, I wanted to share a picture I snapped earlier after I did my nails. Cuz I really do love jewelry.

My treasure box (Yes, I bag everything lol. I can't stand not having everything in one place.)

Thanks for tuning in.

The Telly

Who doesn't love to watch television? Growing up I was never on a computer, except for when I was in elementary school and we learned to type on the old school Macintosh computers (yes I'm a 90s kid lol)...that was basically the only time I've had exposure to a computer. I was best friends with the television set all the way up until I was around 16. I watched hours of it everyday and familiarized myself with a lot of television programs and networks. You name it, I've watched it (or heard of it). We didn't own a computer until my early teens when my parents bought my older sister a computer. I didn't get to go on it until I was around 16, when I had nothing to do and my TV stopped working lol. Some of the best times were watching a lot of good shows! (Ex. CardCaptors, Lizzie McGuire, Malcom in the Middle, Simpsons, Futurama, Scooby Doo, Delilah and Julius, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, What I Like About You, The Nanny, and so many more...)

I haven't had a TV since and I miss watching it now that my laptop serves as my TV and PC. I have LOTS of favourite television programs though. Sitcoms nowadays don't really hold much substance. To me, they're akin to reality television almost. Dramas on the other hand....I've really developed a slight addiction to watching some really good dramas. You can get lost in them easily and they make a nice escape for when you need something else to focus on. And they usually have pretty good storylines.

The shows I'm really into are:

I've tweeted about this show a few times before (as well as following Angie Harmon & Sasha Alexander lol) and I can admit that I'm addicted! I was a little skeptical when I watched the pilot, but it did get better with the second episode. By the third, I was enjoying it until I went through the entire season. Now I'm all caught up and can't wait until next month for the rest of season two. I've never watched a crime/police drama before so this is a pleasant but welcome surprise. Jane and Maura have a nice chemistry and humorous dialogue as best friends. They have completely opposite personalities and demeanors which make for great television humour and entertainment. I also can't stop admiring Maura's clothes (ESPECIALLY THAT CARTIER WATCH!) and her home. She also carries the cutest medical bag haha.

I recommend this show to EVERYONE. Even if you don't like crime dramas, you'll get into this one. I've already watched each episode twice (and I don't watch movies/shows/read books twice unless it's THAT GOOD. And it is!!!) Oh, and WHY NOT 20+ episodes a season??

I just started watching this show this month! I was on a quest to watch more dramas and the synopsis for POI seemed interesting enough that I checked out the first episode. It was alright. It's going strong now though (and has the highest ratings I've seen for any television program) and I'm way hooked. Also, I have a tiny crush on Mr. Reese :D heheh. Who doesn't love a mysterious-tall-and-handsome-ass-kicking-presumed-dead-former-CIA-agent-turned-crime fighter? Can't wait for next week's episode! Maybe next season the writers will incorporate more of the characters and their histories...OR SOME ROMANCE???? We get glimpses of Finch's past but not Reese's (just barely). I would like mo'.

Yea baby!! I'm a big fan of the 60s era (Hello Audrey!) so when I came across some information about this show coming up, I was anticipating watching the first episode to see what it was all about. And let me tell you, this rocks my socks! I didn't get into it until the third episode where I started to understand the story a bit more, as well as letting it unfold so the characters' and their backgrounds could gain more depth. Really though, what's not to love? Already they have relationship drama and entanglements and the season isn't even over. It's been compared to Mad Men (I can't get past the first episode so I gave up) but I could care less. This is more my style!

DEAN + COLETTE! *cross fingers*

These are three dramas I've started watching this fall but there are other programs I watch (just not as into) which are:

For the most part, they've lost the shine and excitement because they really don't have any storylines and aren't quality shows (in my opinion). I was hooked on Nikita all first season but now it seems as if the excitement and quality wrapped up with the first season lol. I just watch them to watch them. Who knows, maybe something interesting will come up that will surprise me lol. I do love my action/crime thrillers though.

I will say that there is one show debut I'm eagerly anticipating, and that's Perception, another TNT drama! It stars Eric McCormack (used to be a big Will & Grace fan and haven't seen him in anything but) and it airs next summer....which seems like a really long way to go, but I'll wait!

To wrap up, I wanted to mention one show I loved watching growing up...Fresh Prince of Bel Air! I was just talking to a friend about this show earlier and we were reminiscing about some of our favourite scenes and lines from the show. I told him I plan on buying all seasons on DVD because they're classics and I will pass them down to my children to watch. You know, for valuable educational purposes. Are there any shows I should check out????

Boots Boots Boots

It's Fall and that means bye bye Summer, hello new gear! This is my favourite season. Fall at its finest to me is trees with gorgeous leaves falling, a light, crisp breeze, and a good amount of sunlight. Not too harsh, just perfect! The scenery and feeling of walking through such a gorgeous sight is really incomparable, especially with the light crisp breeze. I can't recall the last time I was truly happy but going for a nice stroll in weather like that relaxes me and leaves me glowing (lol true). However, right now, the weather is all rainy and really chilly. Bit of a Debbie Downer.

Welcome!

Hello! Welcome to Port Glamour. This is a personal blog where I'll be writing and posting about pretty much anything I feel like (includes fashion, interior design/decor, books, movies, music, personal updates, etc.) :)

This isn't my first time blogging. I have been on Blogspot for three years (three years this month!) so far but I figured instead of revamping the old blogger, I'd make a new one, with all new posts, and just changing everything around. I had over 300 posts on my old one and I do like consistency from top to bottom, so if I had to revamp.... I'd get lazy at the idea of fixing or changing over 300 posts, and there's just way too much to revise....plus I like new :D
